 Did you know that there are children in the Charlotte area that may not have food to eat over the weekend? These kids receive breakfast and lunch at school but then go home to empty pantries. Backpack Buddies of the Vineyard North Charlotte provides weekend meals to these children in need.
Backpacks are filled with healthy foods and are discreetly distributed to children before weekends or holiday vacations. Each backpack contains a variety of healthy, easy-to-open meals, snacks and drink. Our Backpack Buddies program is currently providing backpacks to Statesville Road Elementary, a Charlotte-Mecklenburg school, in the north Charlotte area. Our goal is to expand the program throughout CMS schools in the north Charlotte and Huntersville areas until every child that needs food receives it. How to get involved?
