Takin’ it to the streets

Vineyard partners with Restoration Link’s Fresh Start outreach… taking God’s “furious love” to the adult entertainment industry.

Following Jesus’ lead in reaching out to those who need His love the most, this group of men and women delivers care packages to strippers in clubs around Charlotte.  On the third Tuesday of each month, teams pray over and deliver gifts to the girls as tangible evidence of God’s love.  The deliveries also give an opening to pray for the girls individually and collectively, to raise awareness of trafficking and other domestic issues, and to provide a hotline for girls who may need help of any kind.  We are always looking for support, especially in prayer coverage as we go into the clubs.  If you would like more information on what we do or how you can get involved, please contact Kelly Bradley or Blair Elder.

Back Pack Buddies

About the Program

BackPack Buddies targets kids who access free & reduced-price lunches at school. Children are identi!ed as “in need” by school guidance counselors and site coordinators.

Backpacks are filled with healthy foods and are discreetly distributed to children before weekends or holiday vacations.

Empty backpacks are recollected and re!lled for the next weekend’s use.

Each Backpack Contains:

2 canned vegetables, 1 canned fruit, 2 canned meats or meat stews, 2 packaged noodles, 2 100% juice boxes, 3 boxes shelf stable milk, 2 healthy snacks, 2 breakfast items.

Changing Lives…

A family support worker told me that she had been at the hone of some brothers who participated int he program on several days when they arrived home from school.  she called me to tell me, “You would think it is Christmas because they cannot wait to open the bags up and see what food they have that week!  They espicially like the individual packs of peanut butter.”

When asking a 1st grade student what type of food he ate on the weekend, he replied “Oh…we don’t eat on the weekend.”  When I asked him if he would like to be a Backpack Buddy and explained the program to him, he started jumping up and down with an excited look on his face and exclaimed, “YES, YES, YES!”

How can I get involved?

Sponsorship – Help a child become a part of the Backpack Buddies through a monetary donation.  For less than a dollar a day a child can have access to nutritious food every weekend for an entire year.

1 year……………$350

Compassion Month Tops Last Year!

We blew the lid off of the Compassion Fund Offering.

Last year’s Sunday offering was around $6,000.  We were excited! This years offering to date is $11,004 and we are excited plus!

One of the new ministries that God birthed out of Compassion Month 2011 is Backpack Buddies.

This program was developed out of compassion for a need: hunger. VNC is joining this force in feeding the hungry kids of America, specifically, here in Huntersville! Vineyard North Charlotte members will soon sort and pack food once a month to be brought and dispersed among students attending one of our local section eight schools. We will be packing food for students who are on government paid lunches and show signs of food insecurity. When school is let out on friday, they receive one bag of food filled with ten different food items. This is to supply them resources for the weekend. This is repeated each friday of the month. Backpack buddies is a discreet and compassionate way to meet the needs of our local community.

Welcome to Vineyard North Charlotte

Welcome

Buckle up and hold on!

At the Vineyard we love God, make no mistake about that.

At the Vineyard we believe in God’s radical, unconditional and unwavering love for us.

At the Vineyard we believe that Jesus is God.  We also affirm that you may or may not believe that Jesus is God.  We’re not asking you to change your belief system before you attend our church.  We’re simply inviting you on a journey toward Jesus.

For years, churches have placed a high priority on Jesus as the Get-out-of-hell free card.  At the Vineyard we place the highest priority on Jesus as a live-life-to-the-fullest invitation.

At the Vineyard, we believe every person has a dream deep inside their hearts and that God put that dream there, not for our glory, but for his.

At the Vineyard, we’re not concerned with where you’ve been but where your going.

At the Vineyard we believe that the Bible is God’s word.  It is real.  It is living.  It is active.

We believe that people who don’t go to church anywhere are not the enemy.  They are real people who need the perfect love that only God can give.  We believe that God gives this love through, of all people, us.

At the Vineyard we do not and we will not display a hollier-then-thou attitude toward anyone. We are all broken people but he is putting us back together.

And,  finally and most importantly, at the Vineyard we believe that Jesus really lived, really died on a cross, and that he really rose again on the third day.  We cannot and we will not water down that message, ever!

Today you have chosen to sit yourself in the middle of a very safe place to hear a potentially dangerous message.  Welcome to the Vineyard.
